About

From an early age Inês Tique started to see the world through a global lens where nature plays an important role. When she was 4 years old her family moved to rural Foz do Iguaçú in Brazil. Red soil, gigantic trees and a massive flux of water surrounded her for five of her formative years. The contact with people from around the world allied with the power of nature created a perception of a world with infinite possibilities.

She has always been very provocative in the way she explores all levels of human nature, constantly seeking to establish a more organic relation between nature and humans. She is very inclusive and eclectic. She believes we all connect, coexist and create different cultures not only though language and symbols but also through objects and pictorial images.

She completed a BA in decorative arts with a major in Portuguese decorative art History focused on the Portuguese Expansion. She studied painting at Ar.Co in Lisbon and at the University of California, Berkley. She painted at the Art Students League of New York City in 2005 with the artist Bruce Dorfman, in 2022/2023 with the artist Ronnie Landfield and in 2023/2024 with the artist James little.
